1. Analyse the practices and skills required for the accurate, clear, and persuasive delivery of expository sermons
2. Demonstrate skill in preparing and delivering expository sermons
3. Present Analytical evidence-based perspectives on expository preaching
4. Comment Critically on the NT Epistles and Revelation as preaching genres and the place of topical preaching in an expository ministry.

Content
SECTION A: Biblical Genres and Various Types of Preaching
1. Consideration of the issues involved in preaching from NT Epistles and Revelation.
2. Reflection on the place of topical preaching in a predominantly expository ministry and the skills of topical preaching.
Students will be expected to participate actively in the evaluation of other students’
sermons and engage with literature on the genres under consideration.
SECTION B: Field Work
3. Students will be required to prepare and deliver a sermon from one of the genres, preferably in a church or devotions context. The sermon will be videoed for later class interaction.
