Content
- Introduction to the Study of the Psalms.
The nature of the Book of Psalms; Categories of Psalms; Literary Features of the Psalms (reading Hebrew poetry).
- Issues in the interpretation of the Psalms.
Theories about the structure and composition of the book of Psalms. Key themes such as Yahweh’s kingship, Zion, enemies, Messianism, eschatology.
- Exegesis
Exegesis of a selection of Psalms.
- Preaching
Moving from exegesis to sermon composition.
