The Australian University of Theology (AUT) has come first for quality of entire educational experience in the 2024 Student Experience Survey for institutions with over 1,000 students.
The AUT’s score for undergraduate students of 95.1 was higher than every university and exceeded the university average (76.5) by more than 18 points.
AUT has come first among institutions with over 1,000 students in every year that the survey has been conducted with undergraduate students, which is now ten years in a row.
Across all higher education providers (large and small) in 2024, AUT came fifth for undergraduate students and fourth for postgraduate students when rating their overall educational experience.
Significantly, 84% of AUT students reported that their college supported their wellbeing—an outstanding result when compared to the average for higher education institutions (54%) that completed the wellbeing module of the Student Experience Survey.
“The Australian University of Theology first became a university during 2024, and in 2024 we also achieved ten years in a row as the top ranked large higher education institution for student experience,” said Professor James Dalziel, Vice-Chancellor of the AUT. “We are also delighted by the high scores achieved on student wellbeing, and these excellent outcomes are a testament to the hard work of our academics and Affiliated Colleges,” he said.
In 2024 the Australian University of Theology (AUT) had approximately 2,500 students studying theology and Christian ministry, from Undergraduate Certificate to Doctoral programs, across a network of 15 Australian affiliated colleges. The AUT was previously named the Australian College of Theology, and was founded in 1891.
